We spent the first part of the trip traveling down the 'romantic road' of southern Germany which brings you through old towns in the Bavaria region. Rothenburg ob der Tauber is a medieval city that existed during the middle ages and has remained virtually unchanged, pretty crazy. The city is encircled by an undamaged 14th century town wall. We only popped in for a few hours and climbed the town tower (pics of Dad below). After that, we ventured south to another medieval town called Dinkelsbühl.
Towards the end are some Castles, or Schloss' as they're called here, even further south in Germany. The white one is the castle that Walt Disney based his off of - I know, sorta a big deal. King Ludwig built it and he ran out of money after 14 yrs, so never finished it. It's still pretty enormous though.
